Directions for use:
- Take a small amount of sample (about the size of a
pin head) and put onto back of ceramic white plate or an artists
paint palette.
- Drop one drop of Cobalt Thiocyanate onto sample.
- If the color changes to strong greenish blue color
immediately, it MAY contain cocaine. Several common adulterants
may also react with Cobalt Thiocyanate and produce similar
colors including: ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, PCP, Procaine, methylphenidate.
- To further verify the contents of the sample, add one
drop of reagent from Mandelin onto a second sample.
- If the color changes immediately to deep yellow orange,
it contains cocaine. If the sample contains Tylenol, it changes
to olive.
