Idebenone
Idebenone (IDB) is a synthetic analog of coenzyme Q10, an important member of the electron
transport chain within mitochondria that creates ATP for metabolic energy. Idebenone is a
cerebral stimulant that increases brain energy levels.
- IDB enhances serotonin production, even under conditions of a low tryptophan diet and in patients with cerebrovascular dementia.
- IDB is a powerful antioxidant that is 30 to 100 times more effective than vitamin E as a free radical quencher within the brain cells.
